I am planning to conceive #3 in about a year. My #1 is 5 years old with mild
PDD and mercury-poisoning. He is successfully chelating with Andy's
protocol. My #2 is 3 years old (seeimingly NT) with mercury-poisoning and is also
chelating with Andy's protocol. My #1 definitely received mercury through
vaccines and rhogam. My #2 is questionable because of his age and the removal of
mercury at the time of his birth. He also did not get the Hep B vaccine. I
have five intact amalgams. Andy has previously stated that I should not remove
my amalgams or chelate until after I am done having babies and breastfeeding.
Our alternative dr. says I should remove my amalgams six months prior to
conception.

This is exactly the WRONG thing to do and maximizes the chance the baby
will be messed up.

This, he says, would eliminate my unborn baby's constant exposure to
mercury.

Apparently he doesn't know anything about mercury toxicity and
detoxification.

He wants to give me DMPS at the time of removal to act as a sponge in
absorbing the loose mercury.

This confirms he doesn't know anything about mercury toxicity and
detoxification.

He would not want me to chelate until after I
was done having babies and breastfeeding. (In that, he agrees with Andy). I'm
confused about what to do. I really want this next baby to be healthy. I
would really appreciate advice. Thanks!

Aside from the usual disclaimers about everyone being individual,
pregnancy not being withoiut risk, etc. which are not only pro-forma
but are something that truly is so and needs to be considered, let me
offer some discussion.

Please spend some time studying and thinking about the plot on page 52
of Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment. People who are toxic due
to deranged mineral transport have a complex natural history of
detoxification and at about 6 months in they are the worst off, have
the most toxic metal whooshing around their body looking for someplace
to settle, and are the least able to handle biochemical stress.

My suggestion: first get a hair test and go over the diagnostic section
of Amalgam Illness. If you have any suggestion of real mercury
problems, either do removal and detox starting at least a year before
attempting to conceive, or don't do anything until after weaning.

If you do start removal/detox, do NOT put a conception date on the
calendar, put a date to start thinking about how healthy you are and
whether it is time. You may well be wise to put it off beyond that.

Don't conceive for 2-3 months after your last chelation.

If you have one or a few particularlly bad fillings, get them out now
regardless. But don't get all the fillings out or your body starts its
own spontaneous detox process, per page 52.

If you have some problems but don't want to put off having another
baby, then use rational supportive therapies in modest amounts (so as
to make them reasonable to continue during pregnancy) and see how it
goes.

Generally there is grossly inadequate magnesium in prenatal vitamins,
and low magnesium both goes with mercury problems and is the major risk
factor for pregnancy complications.

If you had problems with the last two deliveries we should talk more
about things, but if they were normal births then it should be OK.

Prenatal vitamins, like all vitamins, work a LOT better if taken 3-4
times a day rather than once.

Generally a high intake of vitamin E and of omega 3 EFA's starting now
so as to build your body inventory is a good idea. Omega 3 is a lot
lower in the modern diet than in earlier times and is a limiting
nutrient, and also is preferentially destroyed by heavy metals.

Also generally the longer you nurse your baby the better for the child.
Even if you are somewhat toxic when you do it.

The key thing to understand is that once you remove the mercury
exposure source your body goes through a complex process of
detoxification on its own, there isn't much you can do about it except
chelate and take vitamins to make it easier on you, and it takes how
long it takes so you do NOT want to start it off 6 months before you
conceive. 6 months after the fillings come out is when your blood and
urine mercury levels are highest and when you are the most miserable
and unhealthy.

Andy . . . . .. . . .
