Hi all;

I have a desk job, sitting by a computer all day and I have been
developing chronic back pain.

Has anyone tried the supremely expensive Aeron chair? Has it helped
your back pain?

I figure I sit most of my life in front of the computer for work, I
might as well have a chair that won't cripple me. I am very short
and
small and I have tried many office chairs but always the seat is
too
deep and cuts my knees or the arms are too wide and never mind the
pillows and cusions for my back. Aeron is the only chair that
comes in
a small person's size that I know of.

Better yet, the small business I work for is willing to pay for it,
but I want to make sure that this cadillac of chairs will actually
help my back pain.

Thank you!

Heather

Heather,
Where are you? My partner works for the SFSU Foundation Ergonomics
and Accessible Technology group in San Francisco. Their office is
filled with all the different ergonomic chairs and her boss teaches
the class on how to fit them. The Back Store in Emeryville will
also help you fit one (but they are really, really expensive there -
much better to fit one someplace and then order it online from the
manufacturer, I've been told). If you are not in the SF Bay Area,
check with your local University or Disability office. They can
direct you if not help directly.
Connie
