Minerals should never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever be stopped or even
varied depending on whether the kid is taking a chelator or not. The
literature is exceptionally clear on this for anyone who goes over the
published numbers, or who goes over the urine tests for people before and
during chelation.
I apologize for not failing more premeds who didn't like using their
calculators when I taught freshman chem. These people have developed some
pretty harmful superstitions about chelating by not being willing to use
numbers to figure out how it really works.
