<< Hi Dr. shaw recommended thiodox for my son it contains gluthione, nac,
and
lipoic acid . why should it not be taken together. This is not for
mercury detox by the way >>

Chemicals like lipoic acid aren't smart like people are. You can tell them
all you want what it is you are taking them for and it doesn't do any good.
They do whatever it is they are going to do no matter what you say.

Take LA and it chelates mercury, increases extracellular cysteine (and thus
intracellular glutathione), etc. regardless of what YOU thought it was doing.
The LA also lasts about 3 hours no matter how often your doctor wrote on the
prescription pad to take it - lipoic acid isn't literate, it can't read
those directions.

Take NAC and it increases glutathione no matter what YOU thought it was doing.

So the question is NOT whether to take it because of what your doctor said,
which in all honesty is totally irrelevant. The question is whether to take
thiodox because what is in it will do something you want to have happen
inside your kid.

It is your doctor's job to understand what the stuff does so he can prescribe
it on the basis of what it actually does. If your kid is mercury toxic then
Dr. Shaw didn't pay attention to one of the things lipoic acid does and
prescribed it inappropriately.
